We planned a day trip to st.Louis and finally we were able to make it on last Friday. St. Louis is nearly 5 hrs drive from our place and we were able to visit Meramec Caverns, it was a hour trip under the mountains and thro the rocks, we were surprised to see a river running beneath the mountain and a hideout for the "Jesse james".
The cavern also features some very unique formations including a natural onyx table with 3 legs and tons of 'grapes' in the same room because the room used to be filled with water. It was quite a sight to see.
Then we made went to Missouri Botanical Garden, which made by day :). Seeing the Orchid flower show I was simply flattered :) but anyways being a biology student and seeing all out tropical plants including banana tree or plant or whatever was quite an experience.
The Arch!!!
The finally after the Botanical garden we went to stay in our hotel and next day we started earlier to see the Arch which the state was famous for. We went nearly 630ft above the ground and able to see the historical town from there, the architecture was quite awesome then just went in the old court house in walkable distance
old court house top view from Arch.
Finally went to City Museum reading the reviews from Yelp.com but it was an awesome amusement indoor and outdoor area designed only for the kids!!! . Seeing that if we were kids we could have really enjoyed that :). Then went to nearby acquariam and started home from there. It was an awesome trip for mostly a day and the best place I personally enjoyed is Missouri Botanical Garden. Awesome place should visit one more time too.
